NBC: Bring Back Friday Night Lights For A 2nd Season!

Dear Fellow Friday Night Lights Fans,

First off I want to thank everyone who signed the petition, and contacted NBC about why they love FNL. The comments were just amazing for this great show.

I’m holding a video contest for all FNL fans to show their Panther love. Create a 30-second clip that in some creative fashion shows why you think NBC should bring FNL back for a second season. We made it through the first without getting canceled, but lets get a renewal!

So, here’s how to participate:

1. Create a 30 second clip about FNL. Show NBC how much you love the show, and why they should bring it back for a 2nd Season. Be as creative as possible.

2. Upload the clip to YouTube.

3. Post the clip URL in the comments section of this thread.

4. Once the clip is posted, I will add it to a video page where you’ll be able to vote for your favorite clips.

5. The highest voted video by the end of march will receive a prize, yet to be determined! (Hey NBC, how about flying the winner to a party in Austin to watch the season finale with the cast??)(if anyone has a contact or knows one at NBC that could make this happen, please let me know!)

    This is one of the best teenage dramas that has I have watched! The actors are all amazing! Being in my 30’s I love this show! My parents are also addicted and they are in their 60s! It is not just a teeny bopper show! Why won’t they promote this show? All the actors should be doing the TV talk show interviews! Letterman, Ellen, Leno, etc.!!!

    I don’t know when the last time a network television show moved me the way FNL does, week after week. This show is flat out brilliant, a work of art. Not to bring it back would be an act of the utmost commercialism and cynicism.

    As a secondary school principal of a small alternative school, let me say this is a quality show worth saving. Give the show time for some positive buzz and give students time to find this show. My students love the show because we talk about it on Thursdays. There is too much trash on TV so please work to save the quality shows we presently have. If you remember “Friends” was not an immediate hit the first year but some execs saw that something that special programs exhibit. Give Friday Night Lights the same opportunity. MLRamsey

    I watch 3 shows on a regular basis. Those shows are Lost, Heroes and the best damn show I’ve ever seen…Friday Night Lights. NBC would be a bunch of fools not to bring back this show. When I started off watching this show I knew it was gold from the beginning. True humanity and realistic characterization is what makes this show the best. And when I speak of characters I speak of how every single character on this show brings you in and takes you on an emotional roller coaster. If you can afford to constantly be giving out money on Deal or No Deal NBC…you can save this show! Please save this show and keep the integrity of your network!

    We must save Friday Night Lights, it is the best show on TV right now. It appeals to all genders and generations. It is so well produced from actors to film work and most importantly the use of great music in each episode. On of the major sports talk stations in Atlanta,790 the Zone, that has a strong and loyal listener base is constantly promoting the show and trying to increase viewers. Please bring Friday Night Lights back for a second season and more . . . . to many unanswered questions and plot lines.

    I rarely watch TV. I prefer going out to a movie. However, Friday Night Lights is better than any movie that I have seen in years–including the original FNL.

    The cast is brilliant. This is the type of show that will only get better. It’s audience will continue to grow because of the quality of the show. Cancelling the show is a vote for mediocrity.

    I just watched the season finale and was cheering and crying at the same time. I absolutely love this show and have since the first episode. All the guys are terrific and Coach Taylor’s family is so true to life. This great show must have a second chance. I truly hope we get a second season and the Dillon Panthers get a chance to repeat at State Champions. Save FNL. It’s a great show!!

    FNL is one of the few shows that I enjoy. Every network seems to be copying the next. Doctors, lawyers and Crime Investigation are the big thing. NBC does something original and gains a decent sized and loyal fan base for a show and they consider throwing it away? It’s refresing to see a new show with characters that intrigue and inspire you to watch again and again. They can’t cancel this show. I hate to say it but even SNL is starting to suck (all politics…boring and unoriginal!) NBC should stay with something most Americans love…FOOTBALL!

    I am not a series tv watcher, but I got into this show by watching it with my 12 year old son, and then husband got caught up in the great storyline with an awesome cast ~ each and every one of them ~ this has been a great family show that we can watch together ~ we want to see more of the Dillon Panthers and Coach Taylor and his family ~ fingers are crossed and will be watching for the only decision that can be made mid may!!     I was shocked to hear this show has been cancelled by NBC so I’m hoping another Network jumps in to pick it up. I’m a 54 year old Grandma who loves this show, not sure why I do but I do.

    The casting couldn’t be better, this show is like so normal and deals with everyday problems, so maybe that is why I like it so much.

    The episode with the boy who was drunk, sorry I can’t remember his name even though I have watched since day one. That was so sad when he was talking about everyone who has left him, including the coach. WOW! Amazing show!!!
